Privacy Notice

Why information is collected, who it reaches, and the commercial basis behind this site.

Scope

This policy sets out, for cmmcalibrationmemphis.com, what a submitted request carries with it, how that information is used, and the commercial arrangement a request is handled under. Both this website and the requests made through it are covered by it.

This version was published 09.10.2026.

The Arrangement Behind This Site

The arrangement is stated first, so that nothing below is read out of context. cmmcalibrationmemphis.com is a marketing and referral website operated by Memphis CMM Calibration and Repair, it is not a calibration laboratory, and no CMM Calibration and Repair work is carried out by the operator of this site.

External laboratories receive the requests submitted here. Each holds its own accreditation, works to its own quality management system, and issues its own certificates and reports in its own name. Which laboratory receives a request is settled on evidence of current accreditation and scope, on capability demonstrated for the measurement being requested, and on record of delivery.

That introduction is paid for: the operator of this website receives a referral fee, a fixed fee for the use of this website, or a commission on work that is placed. The price you are quoted is unaffected, and the payment gives the operator no role in performing, approving or certifying any measurement. The terms of use state it again in the same terms, so the commercial relationship behind this site is on the record and not left to inference.

The Information Received

The list below is complete as at the date of this policy.

  • Supplied with a request: name, company, email address, telephone number.
  • Supplied with a request: the item, the quantity, the measurement points, the tolerances, the standard required, the turnaround needed.
  • Recorded automatically: IP address, browser and device type, the referring page, the pages viewed on this site.

The first two lines are what a quotation cannot be prepared without. The third is the ordinary technical information a browser sends to any web server. Payment card details are not collected through this website.

How Information Is Used

Three purposes account for request detail: reviewing what has been asked for, obtaining a quotation from a laboratory able to perform the work, and corresponding with you about it. Technical information serves a narrower purpose — keeping this site available and secure, and showing which pages are used.

None of it is sold. None of it is rented, traded, or supplied to third parties for their own marketing.

Recipients

Sharing is limited to what the work needs. The laboratory or laboratories asked to quote or perform receive the request; the providers who host this website, deliver its email or supply its analytics receive what their service requires. Those providers act on instructions, and using the information for their own purposes is not permitted.

Two further cases are stated for completeness: disclosure required by law, and access exercised by an accreditation body over the records of a laboratory performing work.

Confidentiality of What You Send

Drawings, specifications, tolerances, measurement data and results supplied with a request are treated as confidential, on the same basis as the confidentiality obligations that apply to accredited laboratory work. They are made available only to those who need them to prepare a quotation or complete the work.

Where the law requires information to be disclosed, you are notified that the disclosure has been made, unless notifying you is itself prohibited.

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are used here for two things and no others: to make the site function, and — where analytics is enabled — to count visits in aggregate. Blocking or deleting them is possible in most browsers. Doing so does not prevent use of this site, though a submitted form may then not be recorded correctly.

How Long Information Is Kept

Inquiry records are retained for as long as they are needed to answer the request and to meet accounting and record-keeping obligations, and are then deleted or stripped of identifying detail. Records held by a laboratory that performed work are retained under that laboratory's own records policy.

What You Can Ask For

The contact page lists the routes for asking what information is held about you, for having it corrected, and for having it deleted. Any of the three is answered within thirty days. Marketing email, if it is sent at all, carries an unsubscribe link and an unsubscribe request is honored on receipt.

Revisions and Law

Amendments may be made to this statement. The published version at cmmcalibrationmemphis.com is the operative one, and the laws of Tennessee govern it.
