About Us
How the work is organized, and what has stayed constant while it grew.
Background
Memphis CMM Calibration and Repair coordinates calibration, repair and programming services for coordinate measuring machines and the gages that support them, serving manufacturers across Memphis, West Tennessee and the Mid-South. Requests cover bridge, gantry and cantilever CMMs, portable articulated arms, granite surface plates, gauge blocks, and ring and plug gauges. Work is performed by laboratories accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017, and certificates issued under that accredited scope state the reference standards used and the reported measurement uncertainty for each parameter checked. Quality managers and procurement staff use these records to support internal audits and customer quality system requirements without maintaining in-house reference standards for every instrument type.

A Look Back
The region's manufacturing base runs a mix of automotive, aerospace and electronics suppliers, many operating under their own ISO-based quality systems. Their CMM and gage fleets require periodic calibration to maintain traceability on the inspection records those systems depend on, and much of that equipment is too large or too specialized to ship to a distant laboratory on a routine basis.
Coordinating calibration locally keeps fixed equipment in place, limits downtime on production inspection lines, and routes portable instruments to a laboratory only when that is the more practical option. Requests are reviewed against the performing laboratory's accredited scope before scheduling, and results are reviewed before release in every case.

The Reference Points for the Work
These are the operating commitments the work is measured against.
- 01
Scope before scheduling
Instruments are matched to an accredited scope before any calibration date is confirmed.
- 02
As-found reporting
Out-of-tolerance conditions are recorded before adjustment, preserving the pre-service state.
- 03
Separate repair quotation
Repairs identified during calibration are quoted on their own, never bundled without approval.
- 04
Documented review
Results are reviewed before release under the laboratory's quality procedures.
